Working within the Financial Operations team, the key responsibility of the Finance Officer’s role is around safeguarding our customer funds by maintaining up to date reconciliations.

The Role                                                                                                                                               

Reporting to our Financial Partner's Treasury Lead, the candidate will have the opportunity to evolve in a dynamic environment, taking initiative on day-to-day operations and support our very ambitious growth objectives.                                                                     

Responsibilities                                                                                                                                  

  • Daily book-keeping duties including maintaining of the general ledgers                                                    
  • Settlements reconciliations and settlement processing                                                                    
  • Investigate and address in a timely manner any financial queries and issues related to our Operational Finance function coming from merchants, business partners and International Card Schemes                                                         
  • Where needed, challenge and work towards improvement of the Company’s operational internal accounting procedures, policies, operations, management controls and reporting
  • Monthly liaison with Line manager to keep him/her appraised of status/progress/issues, etc                         
  • Assisting with yearly external audit
  • Preparation of reconciliation statements                                        
  • Assisting the Corporate team with preparation of monthly client funds bank entries and month-end journals         
  • Other financial reports as requested on an ad-hoc basis                                                                   
  • Act as an escalation point for the Reconciliation Officers reconciliation issues                                        

Requirements                                                                                                                                    

  • In possession of a qualification in Business and Computing, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent                      
  • Previous experience in a similar role within finance and payments will be considered an asset                       
  • Conversant with a strong interest in both IT and Finance                                                                 
  • Previous experience with databases and SQL is an asset                                                                  
  • Results orientated, proactive and can-do attitude                                                                               
  • Good stakeholder management experience                                                                                          
  • Outstanding analytical and quantitative aptitude combined with attention to detail
  • Advanced excel skills 
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be highly organised
